Make Egg Nogg at CWA

By cwa-blog, event

Join us Thursday, October 24th, as we share family recipes and teach you how to make your very own Eggnog. We are doing this in October because the Nog gets better as it ages. We will provide most of the supplies. All you need to do is bring a 750ml bottle of your favorite spirits (Whiskey, Rum, Brandy…etc).

If you love eggnog..or know someone who does…this is the perfect event for you. Eggnog makes the perfect gift or cocktail to bring to a party.

The Nog Event starts at 6pm, but don’t worry if you can’t get there at 6.  We will be presenting the instructions every hour or so, and we will even be staying open a little late to make sure everyone gets their Egg Nog made.

Loquat Wild Ale Release

By cwa-blog, event

It’s Loquat Time!

This mixed-fermentation wild ale was first aged in Oak Barrels for 12 months before it was re-fermented on fresh local Loquats for an additional 3 months.  The majority of the loquats were handpicked by our Co-Founder in his own backyard in Ocean Beach, San Diego. The loquat fruit contributes mild notes of apricot, plum, and cherry and delivers a flavor that is unmistakably Southern California.  This wild ale boasts a light body, bright acidity, and a crisp a dry finish.

We only packaged (60) 500ml bottles and (1) keg.  Join us as we tap the keg of Loquat Wild Ale on Saturday, October 12th at our Bottle Release Party.   Only 60 of these were made so reserve your bottle today.

Only 60 Bottles Available for Pre-Sale

Pickup only. (Limit 3 per customer)

Gose Loco: Margarita Sour!

By cwa-blog, event

It’s Fiesta Time!

Our Gose Loco is ready and we are excited for you to try this one!

First we soaked some Hungarian Oak with Añejo Tequila for 2 months.  When that was ready we added it to our Barrel-Aged Golden Sour Beer.  We then added fresh Bearss Limes that we picked in Escondido, CA.  To round out the flavors we added Sea Salt and Agave Nectar.  The result is GOSE LOCO… a Margarita Sour that is as delicious as it sounds.

We only bottled (80) 500ml bottles and one keg.  We will be tapping the keg and releasing the bottles on August 24th.  You will not want to miss this one.

We are proud to be San Diego’s only all barrel-aged sour house and we are constantly striving to bring you new funky brews.  As always we keep 10 sours on tap at our tasting room.  If you are looking to take your tastebuds on a funky adventure … visit our tasting room and enjoy a Gose Loco Flight (Gose Loco served 3 ways).  We are open 6 days a week Tuesday-Sunday.

Festival of Funk 2019

By cwa-blog, event

Thank you to everyone who came by our booth at this year’s Festival of Funk.   We were honored to be invited by Modern Times and blown away by the response to our beers.  There were some familiar faces … and a whole bunch of new sour loving fans.  We wanted to bring a wide array of flavors so people could get an idea of who we are and what type of beers we make.  Deciding on what to bring to Festival of Funk was tricky, but we finally decided on four beers.

Our lineup included:
Pineapple Upsidedown Cake
(Brown Sugar Dusted Pineapple / Homemade Maraschino Cherries)
Mango Fett
(Mango / Jalepeño)
The Darkside
(Kombucha / Pomegranate / Hibiscus / Beet)
Strawberry Wild Ale
(Fresh Strawberry)

Wow!  We were so excited to see people lining up to try our sours.  It was amazing to introduce ourselves to a ton of locals who had not yet heard of us.  We are proud to be San Diego’s only all barrel-aged sour house and we are constantly striving to bring you new funky brews.  Our complex Wild Ales are not for everyone… and we are thrilled that the San Diego Beer community has embraced us.  As always we keep 10 sours on tap at our tasting room.  If you are looking to take your tastebuds on a funky adventure … visit our tasting room and enjoy a flight.  We are open 6 days a week Tuesday-Sunday.
