Gose Loco: Margarita Sour!

By cwa-blog, event

It’s Fiesta Time!

Our Gose Loco is ready and we are excited for you to try this one!

First we soaked some Hungarian Oak with Añejo Tequila for 2 months.  When that was ready we added it to our Barrel-Aged Golden Sour Beer.  We then added fresh Bearss Limes that we picked in Escondido, CA.  To round out the flavors we added Sea Salt and Agave Nectar.  The result is GOSE LOCO… a Margarita Sour that is as delicious as it sounds.

We only bottled (80) 500ml bottles and one keg.  We will be tapping the keg and releasing the bottles on August 24th.  You will not want to miss this one.

We are proud to be San Diego’s only all barrel-aged sour house and we are constantly striving to bring you new funky brews.  As always we keep 10 sours on tap at our tasting room.  If you are looking to take your tastebuds on a funky adventure … visit our tasting room and enjoy a Gose Loco Flight (Gose Loco served 3 ways).  We are open 6 days a week Tuesday-Sunday.

Festival of Funk 2019

By cwa-blog, event

Thank you to everyone who came by our booth at this year’s Festival of Funk.   We were honored to be invited by Modern Times and blown away by the response to our beers.  There were some familiar faces … and a whole bunch of new sour loving fans.  We wanted to bring a wide array of flavors so people could get an idea of who we are and what type of beers we make.  Deciding on what to bring to Festival of Funk was tricky, but we finally decided on four beers.

Our lineup included:
Pineapple Upsidedown Cake
(Brown Sugar Dusted Pineapple / Homemade Maraschino Cherries)
Mango Fett
(Mango / Jalepeño)
The Darkside
(Kombucha / Pomegranate / Hibiscus / Beet)
Strawberry Wild Ale
(Fresh Strawberry)

Wow!  We were so excited to see people lining up to try our sours.  It was amazing to introduce ourselves to a ton of locals who had not yet heard of us.  We are proud to be San Diego’s only all barrel-aged sour house and we are constantly striving to bring you new funky brews.  Our complex Wild Ales are not for everyone… and we are thrilled that the San Diego Beer community has embraced us.  As always we keep 10 sours on tap at our tasting room.  If you are looking to take your tastebuds on a funky adventure … visit our tasting room and enjoy a flight.  We are open 6 days a week Tuesday-Sunday.

Am I Obsolete?

Am I Obsolete?

By cwa-blog

On December 15th, California Wild Ales is thrilled to bring you our very first art show featuring Recirculation art by James Rauff.  It will also be a chance to purchase his brand new book, Am I Obsolete, signed by the amazing artist and author himself.

Recirculation Art is an exploration of the relevancy of old digital point and shoot cameras. Smartphones have made these cameras near obsolete.

Recirculation Art creates unique images and stories for these Robotized cameras, depicting life after their decline. The anthropomorphism of these figures in abandoned locations with urban decay juxtaposes themes of time, technology and nature.

James Rauff is a local SoCal Artist and a friend to the brewing industry having worked for several SD craft breweries. Come to join us for a celebration of Art, Beer, and great craftsmanship.
