🌊 Built by the Ocean Beach Community
This recognition means everything to us because California Wild Ales isn’t just located in Ocean Beach—it was built by Ocean Beach.
We’ve been part of this community for 17 years, and when we set out to build our brewery and tasting room here at:
📍 California Wild Ales – Ocean Beach
4896 Newport Ave
San Diego, CA 92107
We didn’t do it alone.
We asked the community to believe in us—and OB answered in the most authentic way possible.
Our space was literally built with contributions from the neighborhood:
-
Donated wood
-
Legos
-
Pennies
-
Mirrors
-
Creativity, energy, and love from the people of Ocean Beach
Every wall, every detail, every corner of this brewery carries a piece of this community. This isn’t just a business—it’s a shared creation.
🍻 More Than a Brewery — A Third Space in Ocean Beach
Over the past five years, something truly special has happened.
California Wild Ales has become a “third space” in Ocean Beach.
Not home.
Not work.
But that essential place in between.
A place where:
-
Friends know they’ll run into each other
-
New connections are made over a pint of craft beer
-
Locals gather for events, celebrations, and everyday moments
-
The Ocean Beach vibe—creative, welcoming, and a little wild—comes to life
Whether you’re stopping in after the beach, celebrating a birthday, or just looking for a great San Diego craft brewery experience, this space belongs to all of us.
